Representation of part-whole similarity in geology

Abstract

Similarity and part-whole relations are important for problem-solving in geology. In this article, we propose a concept representation framework that can represent similarity and part-relations in an integrated way. We exemplify the framework by showing an algorithm for well log interpretation based on partonomical similarity.
