Abstract

This chapter delves into the application of the MWorks domestic modeling and simulation platform in nuclear power plants, highlighting its role in enhancing operational efficiency and safety. The text begins by introducing the two main types of simulation platforms used in the nuclear energy industry: full-scale simulators (FSS) and local modeling tools. It then focuses on the MWorks platform, which adopts the Modelica specification for multi-domain unified modeling. The chapter provides an overview of the MWorks.Sysplorer platform, its functionalities, and its application in nuclear power plants for modeling and simulation of control, thermodynamic, and electrical circuits. A detailed case study is presented, where the MWorks platform is used to model and simulate the liquid level fluctuation problem in the RCV system of a nuclear power plant. The simulation analysis includes various scenarios, such as validation of system tuning without hydrogen injection, validation of RCV3334VY regulation with hydrogen injection, and gain factor adjustment verification. The chapter concludes by discussing the benefits of using the MWorks platform for modeling and simulation in nuclear power plants, emphasizing its ability to provide intuitive identification of unreasonable PID adjustment parameters and gain coefficients. The text offers practical insights into the application of simulation tools in solving real-world problems, making it a valuable resource for professionals in the field.
