Abstract

This chapter delves into the application of the magnetic network approach in magnetically saturated controllable reactors (MSCRs), focusing on enhancing grid performance. The study compares this method with finite element simulation and magnetic circuit methods, highlighting its advantages in system simulation and optimization design. Key topics include the working principle of MSCRs, the equivalent magnetic network model, and the verification of the design method through finite element simulation. The chapter also explores the magnetic network mesh dissection and modeling, providing a detailed analysis of the magnetic field distribution and the calculation of magnetoresistance. Experimental validation and analysis are presented, comparing the operating currents obtained from different methods. The conclusion emphasizes the practical advantages of the magnetic network approach, particularly in preliminary design and optimization procedures. This comprehensive analysis offers valuable insights into improving the efficiency and accuracy of MSCR design and performance.
