Abstract

The study delves into the dynamic behaviors of sliding friction in silicone, highlighting its unique properties compared to rigid materials. Utilizing advanced optical testing techniques, such as Digital Image Correlation (DIC), the research analyzes friction behaviors like Schallamac waves, stick-slip, and deformation waves. The article explores the effects of load and surface structure on the sliding friction coefficient, revealing that the coefficient increases with load. The findings have significant implications for the design and optimization of crawling bionic robots and other applications requiring precise control of friction in soft viscoelastic materials.
