Abstract

The chapter delves into the substantial progress made by the BRICS Innovation Center, established in Xiamen, China, to advance cooperation among BRICS countries in the realm of the new industrial revolution. It highlights the center's role in policy coordination, personnel training, and platform building, emphasizing the strategic initiatives and institutional frameworks that have been developed to support these efforts. The chapter also addresses the main challenges facing the center, including the complex international situation, the lack of synergy in STI development, and the need for enhanced systematic collaboration. It explores the future outlook for the BRICS Innovation Center, proposing systematic planning, the creation of an industrial ecosystem for future technologies, and the establishment of international standardization organizations. The chapter also discusses the potential for the center to serve as a magnet for open cooperation among BRICS countries, fostering a community with a shared future for mankind. Additionally, it examines the center's role in promoting regional and global dual circulations, leveraging the complementarity of BRICS countries in resource endowment, industrial structure, and market structure. The chapter concludes with a call for the BRICS Innovation Center to embrace the spirit of multilateralism and make greater efforts to promote and demonstrate the value of BRICS cooperation, instilling hope and confidence in the global battle against the pandemic and world economic recovery.
