Abstract

This article delves into the complex interactions between CO2, formation water, and rock in oilfield saline aquifers, focusing on the effects of CO2 injection on reservoir physical properties. Through a series of experiments, the study analyzes the changes in core permeability, porosity, mass, and pore structure under varying pressure and temperature conditions. Notably, the research considers the presence of crude oil, which significantly influences the reactions and outcomes. The findings reveal that pressure and temperature play crucial roles in determining the extent of CO2 dissolution and its impact on reservoir properties. The article highlights the importance of understanding these interactions for optimizing CO2 storage and enhanced oil recovery techniques.
