Abstract

The chapter addresses the critical issue of ergonomics in robotic production lines, specifically focusing on tailgate fixtures. It highlights the physical strain operators endure due to awkward postures and repetitive motions, leading to musculoskeletal disorders. The study presents a modification to the fixture that significantly improves ergonomics while also resolving process-related challenges. By employing a piston-driven lifting mechanism, the solution enables operators to work in a more comfortable position, reducing health risks. Simultaneously, it ensures that the robot can effectively perform its sealing task, maintaining high production quality. The proposed solution is not only effective but also cost-efficient and easily applicable to various fixtures, demonstrating a practical approach to enhancing both worker well-being and production efficiency.
