Abstract

The principles of responsible bioentrepreneurship are a call for multiple stakeholders to engage in a manifold discourse driving a solution-oriented innovation process.
Footnotes
1
As a bioentrepreneur, one can understand ‘researchers hoping to commercialize their research, and […] those working for and with young life science companies’ [1].

2
Responsible Innovation and Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) are often used as synonyms in the literature. RRI was originally defined as ‘[…] a transparent, interactive process by which societal actors and innovators become mutually responsive to each other with a view to the (ethical) acceptability, sustainability and societal desirability of the innovation process and its marketable products (in order to allow a proper embedding of scientific and technological advances in our society).’ [14].
