Abstract

The article presents comprehensive research on the effects of microarc diffusion impregnation of steel with boron and carbide-forming elements, such as chromium, molybdenum, vanadium, and tungsten. The study investigates the impact of varying temperatures and durations on the resulting coating structure, phase composition, and microhardness. Notably, the research reveals that multicomponent alloying significantly enhances the microhardness and wear resistance of the coatings, making them suitable for high-wear applications. The findings also demonstrate the formation of unique phases like boron nitride, which further strengthens the coatings. The article concludes by highlighting the optimal conditions for achieving the desired coating properties, providing valuable insights for further advancements in surface strengthening technologies.
