Abstract

The study investigates heavy metal contamination in the soils of Islamabad, Pakistan, highlighting the risks posed by anthropogenic activities. It employs GIS-based techniques to map the spatial distribution of heavy metals, providing a detailed analysis of soil properties and contamination factors. The research identifies hotspots of heavy metal pollution and assesses the environmental quality of arable soils, aiming to protect peri-urban areas from toxicity. The use of GIS technology offers a cost-effective and accurate method for monitoring soil health and guiding remediation efforts.
