About this book

This textbook is compiled on the basis of teaching, scientific research, design projects, and software development of the compilation team, which strives to embody the new ideas, new methods, and new technologies of road survey and design. For the concept of compilation, it emphasizes the introduction and understanding of road geometric design principles and methods with the help of Road CAD software and online resources, in order to strengthen the practical characteristics of the textbook.
The textbook mainly includes the objectives and control elements of road survey and design, horizontal, vertical, and cross-section geometric designs, route selection and alignment location, at-grade intersection and grade separation designs, and road management facilities. It is used as the textbook for road and bridge engineering, traffic engineering, and civil engineering and is also used as reference for engineers and researchers engaged in highway, urban road, and the related road engineering designs.
The textbook provides teaching slides, answers for homework, videos, and other teaching resources, which are provided to users for free.
