Abstract

This chapter delves into the advanced fusion of multimodality medical images, specifically combining CT and MRI data to improve diagnostic accuracy. The methodology involves preprocessing for noise reduction and intensity normalization, followed by frequency domain analysis using Fourier or wavelet transformation. Frequency domain optimization is then applied to enhance fusion quality while preserving critical features. The process concludes with detail-preserving guided fusion and post-processing to refine the final image. The chapter highlights the significance of processing in improving the accuracy and consistency of fused medical images, as demonstrated by various performance metrics such as AVG, MIN, QAB/F, VIF, SSIM, and PSNR. Additionally, the chapter compares different modality images and their fusion results, providing a comprehensive overview of the methodology's effectiveness.
