Abstract

The article introduces a robust torque control strategy for switched reluctance motors (SRMs) using a linear extended state observer (LESO) and model-free predictive current control (MFPCC). The method addresses the challenges of torque ripple and parameter variations in SRMs, offering a data-driven approach that replaces traditional mathematical models with a hyper-local model. The proposed strategy includes a torque-current converter for precise mapping from reference phase torque to current and a LESO-based MFPCC for current closed-loop regulation. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate the method's effectiveness in reducing torque ripple and maintaining steady-state performance, even under parameter mismatch. The article highlights the advantages of the LESO-MFPCC approach in improving control robustness and accuracy, making it a significant contribution to the field of SRM torque control.
