Abstract

The chapter delves into the application of the Rolling Horizon Co-evolution Algorithm (RHCA) in the Snake AI competition, organized by Innopolis University and part of the IEEE Conference on Games. The competition reconstructs the classic game Snake for two players, controlled by AI algorithms, to compete simultaneously. The RHCA, characterized by rolling horizon evaluation and co-evolution, is assessed for its effectiveness in this more complex game. The chapter compares RHCA with other popular graph-based heuristic search algorithms, including A*, MCTS, and NMCS, across various complex scenarios with obstacles. The experimental results demonstrate RHCA's superior performance and adaptability, highlighting its potential for further exploration and improvement in AI algorithm development.
