Abstract

The article outlines the categories Quintan Wiktorowicz suggested the scholarship should employ to study Salafism and its relationship to the political and argues that such categories need to be revisited considering the changes that have taken place over the last 15 years across the Arab and Muslim world. It then summarises the main findings from the contributions to this special issue.
