Abstract

This chapter delves into the seismic bearing capacity of skirted strip footings on cohesive-frictional soil slopes, focusing on key parameters such as edge distance, cohesion, and slope angle. Through finite element limit analysis, the study examines how these factors influence the stability of footings under seismic conditions. The results highlight the significant impact of cohesion and internal friction angle on bearing capacity, with detailed charts and tables illustrating variations in seismic bearing capacity factors. The analysis also explores the effects of seismic forces, showing how increased cohesion and internal friction can stabilize slopes even under critical conditions.
