Abstract

The study focuses on the seismic sequence and source analysis of the Upper Triassic Xujiahe Formation sandstone reservoirs in the Sichuan Basin. The Xujiahe Formation is a crucial production layer for tight oil and gas, and its sedimentary facies and provenance have been subjects of extensive research. This article utilizes high-density 2D seismic data to identify typical seismic facies and analyze the channels and distribution patterns of sediment transport, providing a detailed understanding of the sediment provenance. The research reveals the evolution of the depositional environment and the transport pathways of sedimentary materials, contributing to the study of the distribution pattern of sand bodies and the source-to-sink system. The findings have significant implications for oil and gas exploration in the Sichuan Basin and serve as a reference for sediment provenance analysis in other sedimentary basins.
