Abstract

The article introduces a SHAKE-ESDRL-based intrusion detection system designed for wireless sensor networks (WSNs), highlighting the need for enhanced security measures due to the open and unattended nature of WSNs. It discusses the limitations of existing machine learning (ML) techniques in intrusion detection systems (IDS) and proposes a deep reinforcement learning (DRL) approach to address these challenges. The system is designed to be energy-efficient, focusing on reducing network lifetime and energy consumption while maintaining high detection accuracy. The proposed method involves two main phases: ID training system and energy-efficient data sensing for ID. The article also includes a detailed description of the architecture and performance of the proposed system, as well as a comparison with existing methods using statistical metrics and real-world datasets. The results demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed SHAKE-ESDRL-based IDS in terms of accuracy, precision, recall, and energy efficiency. The article concludes by emphasizing the robustness and efficiency of the proposed method and suggesting future research directions to improve network scalability.
