Besides the classical questions on aerodynamic forces, the aerodynamic development of a car's bodywork pays respect to the guidance of rain water over its surface. CFD simulations have been integrated in the development process for years in order to predict the principal aerodynamic characteristics of a car. In a current project, BMW and TU Darmstadt are using the increasing computational power for early consideration of water management with simulative estimations. …
