Abstract

The article investigates the potential of Sb2Se3 as a hole transport layer (HTL) in MAPbI3 perovskite solar cells (PSCs), focusing on enhancing efficiency and stability. It begins by highlighting the rapid advancements in PSC efficiency and the ongoing challenges related to stability and moisture sensitivity. The study introduces Sb2Se3, a cost-effective and stable inorganic compound, and its integration into PSCs to extend the photo-response spectrum and improve device stability. Through simulation using SCAPS-1D, the research analyzes the photovoltaic performance of Sb2Se3-based PSCs, optimizing parameters such as layer thickness, doping concentration, and defect density. The findings reveal that Sb2Se3 can significantly enhance the short-circuit current density and fill factor, although further optimization is needed to match the efficiency of organic HTLs. The article also examines the impact of interface defects on device performance, underscoring the importance of minimizing defect densities at the Sb2Se3/MAPbI3 and MAPbI3/TiO2 interfaces. Overall, the study provides a comprehensive analysis of Sb2Se3's potential in PSCs, offering valuable insights for advancing solar cell technology.
