In the field of automated driving functions for trucks and mobile machines, environment sensing is one of the greatest challenges. Only raw signal interfaces are suitable for testing the environment detection in the simulation, since they provide the required realistic input data for the sensors. IPG Automotive describes how the 3-D environment and the sensor model interact in the simulation platform TruckMaker in order to be able to test automated driving functions in the overall system early in the development process. …
