Abstract

The chapter delves into the simulation of queues in sugar mills using the Monte Carlo technique, focusing on the 2020–21 season at The Meham Co-Op. Sugar Mills Ltd. It discusses the challenges of non-steady state queues and the limitations of traditional queuing models. The study collects real-world data on arrival and service patterns, applying Monte Carlo simulation to model queue characteristics and performance. The results highlight the system's average utilization, waiting times, and queue lengths, and propose improvements by increasing mill crushing capacity. The chapter concludes with a validation of the model and insights into potential system enhancements, making it a valuable resource for understanding and optimizing queue systems in industrial settings.
