Abstract

A method for setting the boundary conditions in a mold, based on experimental data on the primary cooling of slabs in industrial continuous casting machines is described. The method allows for the nonuniform distribution of heat-flux density along the height and width of the mold face in mathematical modeling of slab solidification.
