The ESI Group specialises in material physics, virtual prototyping software and related services. With its global presence (the company has offices in France, Germany, the United States, Japan, China and India), ESI’s key strengths are in helping manufacturers do away with the usage of physical prototypes and instead use virtual fabrication and assembly tools, followed by testing of their products in various simulated environments. In the automotive industry, CAD and CAE systems have been widely used for the last many years, and these provide a good base for the move to virtual prototyping. ESI also has a significant presence in India, with its CFD team being based in Pune. Of the approximately 1,100 persons ESI employs globally, around 200 are based in India.
