Abstract

The article delves into the intriguing phenomenon of single-photon blockade within a hybrid optomechanical system that includes two qubits. The authors introduce a model with two optical cavities separated by a movable membrane, each containing a qubit. They analyze the system's behavior when the mechanical mode is initially prepared in phononic number or coherent states, a unique approach not commonly explored in previous research. The study focuses on the second-order correlation function and the probability of single-photon occurrence, highlighting the effects of photon tunneling, qubit-field coupling, and optical and atomic dissipations on the single-photon blockade. The results show that the presence of photon tunneling and strong coupling between optical modes and qubits can enhance the single-photon blockade effect, while dissipation rates can attenuate it. The article also demonstrates how the initial state of the mechanical mode affects the blockade effect, providing valuable insights into the optimization of single-photon sources for quantum information processing.
