Most of the natural distributions encountered in geology are not symmetric, but are usually more or less skewed to the right (i.e. positively skewed). Thus, higher grades occur in addition to the average grade tenor, and they extend beyond the range considered as the normal distribution. These irregularly high values or enrichments frequently convert mineralisation into orebodies.
