Abstract

The article delves into the thermodynamic calculations of solubility products and equilibrium equations for carbonitrides in steels, focusing on titanium, niobium, and vanadium microalloying elements. It introduces advanced thermodynamic models that consider solid solution elements, providing detailed calculations for predicting carbonitride fractions in both austenite and ferrite. The study also compares the calculated results with experimental data and previous thermodynamic assessments, highlighting the accuracy and reliability of the developed models. The work is significant for guiding microalloying practices in low carbon steels and provides a robust framework for further research in solubility product deducing and chemical formula calculations of other ternary compounds in steels.
