Abstract

Die Einwohner westlicher Industriestaaten halten sich während eines Jahres im Durchschnitt fast 90 % der Zeit in Gebäuden auf (Leech et al. 2002). Die restliche Zeit verbringen sie in Verkehrsmitteln und im Freien. Sogar im Verlauf des kalendarischen Sommers befinden sich Erwachsene zwischen 79 % (Krause und Schulz 1998) und 84 % (Leech et al. 2002) des Tages in Innenräumen.
