Recently, the capacity of PDA has extended and been popular for mobile environment such as M-commerce. However, the practical application of speaker verification (SV) utility to PDA device requires too much computational complexity. To solve this problem, we propose a new method to relieve the computational burden by applying the Sequential Probability Ratio Test(SPRT) in Hidden Markov Models (HMM). Our experimental results show that the proposed method can reduce the computation complexity up to 20% and 30% in the enrollment and the test stages, respectively, accompanied by slight accuracy degradation compared with the full search algorithm in the SV.
