Fowler et al. (2019) called for integrating systems thinking into teaching emerging technologies and acknowledging “the interdependence of components in a successful technology” in STEM education. The 2022 EDUCAUSE Horizon Report outlined the trends from social, technological, economic, environmental, and political influences that are collaboratively influencing the policies, research, and practices at all levels of education (Pelletier et al., 2022). Therefore, it is crucial to advocate for a comprehensive examination of technology adoption, especially when dealing with issues related to emerging learning technologies. We contend that it is important to realize the complex connections and interrelationships among the factors that directly or indirectly impact the successful adoption of digital technologies in education, especially emerging learning technologies. This understanding will assist educators and policymakers in avoiding overcompensating concerns and dilemmas related to technology and education. …
