Abstract

The article explores the critical role of spectral linewidth reduction in enhancing the performance of optical communication systems. It delves into the applications requiring coherent lasers with narrow linewidths, such as gravitational wave detectors and WDM networks. The paper introduces the use of apodized cascaded fiber Bragg grating as an innovative solution to reduce spectral width, thereby mitigating dispersion effects in WDM optical networks. This approach promises to significantly improve data transmission capacity and bit error rates in high-demand communication systems.
