Plenty of interior space, electrified powertrains and affordable prices: Dacia is making its debut in the compact SUV class with the Bigster.

The Dacia Bigster is based on the CMF-B platform and is 4.57 m long, 1.81 m wide and 1.71 m high. The wheelbase is 2.70 m. The robust design of the new SUV follows – albeit in a much toned-down form – the line already taken in 2021 with the Bigster Concept. At the front, there are Y-shaped daytime running lights and the "Dacia Link" in the center. The underbody protection at the front and rear is matt black. The wheels are between 17 and 19 inches in size.

The interior of the compact SUV offers space for up to five people. The driver display in the cockpit is either 7 or 10 inches in size, depending on the equipment. A 10.1" touchscreen is standard: It is used to control the "Media Display" multimedia system, including wireless smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In higher equipment levels, the "Media Nav Live" works with navigation. While the electric panoramic glass sunroof is standard on the "Extreme", only the Bigster "Journey" has an electrically operated tailgate. It is optionally available for the "Extreme" version. The boot volume is 667 liters (VDA), and the rear seat can be folded down in a 40:20:40 ratio.

Dacia Bigster with Four Powertrains

Dacia offers the Bigster with four electrified powertrains. The Hybrid 155 combines a 79 kW (107 hp) four-cylinder petrol engine, two electric motors (a 37 kW / 50 hp motor and a high-voltage starter/generator), a 1.4 kWh battery and an automatic electric transmission that has four gears for the combustion engine and two additional gears for the electric motors. The TCe 140 is powered by a 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine based on the Miller cycle, and a 48-V mild hybrid system. It is equipped with a six-speed manual transmission. The Bigster ECO-G 140 combines a dual-fuel LPG drive with a 48-V mild hybrid system for the first time. This supports the 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbo engine. The TCe 130 4x4 all-wheel-drive version is also powered by a turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine with a 48-volt mild hybrid system.

With a ground clearance of 22 cm, the compact SUV can also be driven off-road. The all-wheel-drive version, Bigster TCe 130 4x4, has the "Terrain Control System" with five driving modes: Auto, Snow, Mud/Sand, Off-Road and Eco. In the "Extreme" mode, it also has a hill descent control. The Bigster is available in the versions Essential, Expression, Extreme and Journey. Prices have not yet been announced. However, Dacia promises to offer "the best value for money in the C-SUV segment".
