Deutz has agreed a cooperation with Daimler Truck. As part of the agreement, Daimler Truck will take a stake in Deutz and become a major single shareholder with 4.19% of the shares. The cooperation will give engine manufacturer Deutz access to Daimler Truck engines from the end of the decade. This involves medium-duty engines (Daimler Truck MDEG series), which are suitable for use in construction machinery, and heavy-duty engines (Daimler Truck HDEP series), which can power large agricultural machinery, for example. The latter will continue to be manufactured by Daimler Truck at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Mannheim and supplied to Deutz to complete the engine system. Production of the medium-duty engines, on the other hand, will take place at Deutz.
