AMS Osram has launched a 915 nm 8-channel SMT pulsed laser for autonomous driving. Due to its simplified system design and higher power, the laser is intended to increase the effectiveness and reliability of lidar systems for long-range applications. The SPL S8L91A_3 A01 is a 915 nm 8-channel SMT pulsed laser in a QFN (Quad Flat No Leads Package) package. In the future, it is to be integrated into lidar systems for autonomous vehicles, such as cars and trucks as well as self-driving cabs (robotaxis). The new product is intended to improve the operation, navigation and data processing capabilities of these vehicles. The SPL S8L91A_3 A01 is due to be launched on the market this fall.
