Abstract

The article delves into the stabilities and transformations of Mg-Cr spinels with Mn incorporation in stainless steel slags, a significant waste material from the stainless steel industry. It discusses the synthesis and characterization of spinel solid solutions, focusing on the impact of Mn content on spinel stability under alkaline environments. The study also investigates the leaching behavior of Cr in these spinels, highlighting the challenges and potential solutions for the safe treatment and recycling of stainless steel slags. The findings offer valuable insights into the management and utilization of this hazardous waste material, contributing to the development of sustainable practices in the metallurgical industry.
