Stability Evaluation Method and Support Structure Optimization of Weak and Fractured Slate Tunnel

Abstract

In order to solve the problems of large deformation and cracking of the fractured slate tunnel lining, a tunnel stability evaluation method that can be used for fractured slate tunnels is proposed, and the supporting structure is explored. With the help of mechanical test and XRD, the mechanical properties and degradation mechanism of slate are obtained, and the mechanical parameters of fractured slate rock mass are determined according to Hoek–brown criterion. Combined with the distribution characteristics of slate, a method for calculating the tunnel safety factor is proposed after analyzing the law of buried depth and distribution characteristics of slate on the tunnel stability by using the strength reduction method. Compared with the on-site lining failure event, the two safety factors of 1.31 and 1.4 are determined. For crossing conditions with a safety factor lower than the safety standard, the application of compression support can effectively release the deformation energy of soft rock and greatly reduce the stress value of the support structure.
