Electric vehicles in their current form are only of interest to a small proportion of potential buyers, despite all the encouragement from politicians. In Germany, the scrapping of the government subsidy for electric cars in the first half of 2024 has even resulted in a fall in the sales figures, while at the same time the market as a whole is growing. Although some car manufacturers have drawn their own conclusions and reduced their prices, it is clear that further technical development is needed to enable them to do business profitably in the medium term and to bring about a noticeable increase in the market share of BEVs.
