Dieser Beitrag erörtert Grundlagen der Steuerpolitik. Er definiert die Zwecke der Besteuerung, unterscheidet die wichtigsten Steuertypen, diskutiert generelle steuerpolitische Entwicklungen der letzten 50 Jahre und vergleicht die nationalen Steuersysteme von Ländern innerhalb und außerhalb der OECD.
