Abstract

The article discusses the challenges in energy management due to environmental concerns and fossil fuel depletion, highlighting the need for advanced distribution management systems. It focuses on the combined application of CVR, VO, and NR for energy management, addressing issues such as voltage instability and network losses. The methodology involves the use of a hybrid BPSO-COA algorithm to optimize OLTC taps, shunt capacitor locations, and ratings for different seasonal loads. The study emphasizes the techno-economic benefits of the proposed scheme, including substation demand reduction, annual cost savings, average voltage improvement, and node voltage optimization. The results are validated through case studies on the modified IEEE-69 node system, demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed approach under various seasonal and loading conditions.
