Bürgerschaftliches Engagement oder gesellschaftliche Verantwortung von Unternehmen wird häufig mit den Begriffen Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Corporate Responsibility (CR) und Corporate Citizenship (CC) gleichgesetzt. Eine einheitliche Definition hat sich in der Literatur bisher nicht durchgesetzt. In diesem Beitrag wird nach Davis unter gesellschaftlicher Verantwortung Folgendes verstanden: “the firm’s consideration of, and response to, issues beyond the narrow economic, technical, and legal requirements of the firm to accomplish social [and environmental] benefits along with the traditional economic gains which the firm seeks.” (
