Zusammenfassung

Personalmanagement ist dann strategisch relevant, wenn es einen Beitrag zum langfristigen Unternehmenserfolg liefert.
Diesbezüglich zeigt sich der universalistische Ansatz davon überzeugt, dass es eine „best-practice“ des Personalmanagements unabhängig von unternehmensspezifischen Bedingungen gibt. Der Kontingenzansatz hingegen fordert, das Personalmanagement müsse bestmöglich der Wettbewerbsstrategie des Unternehmens angepasst sein und sich als funktionale Strategie aus der Wettbewerbsstrategie ableiten. Und schließlich stellt der Konsistenzansatz heraus, dass die interne Abgestimmtheit und Widerspruchsfreiheit der personalwirtschaftlichen Instrumente und Praktiken höchste Erfolgswirksamkeit verspricht.
