Abstract

The article delves into the strategic use of 5G base station energy storage to enhance power system frequency regulation. It highlights the increasing challenges posed by the integration of renewable energy sources and the decline in traditional frequency regulation resources. The study proposes a control strategy that leverages the energy storage capabilities of 5G base stations to improve frequency stability. The article also discusses the potential of aggregating large-scale base stations to form a significant frequency regulation resource. Through simulation studies, the effectiveness of the proposed strategy is demonstrated, showing its potential to reduce frequency deviations and enhance power system stability. The paper concludes by emphasizing the future prospects of this strategy in promoting renewable energy consumption and improving power system operational flexibility.
