Abstract

The chapter delves into the incremental production of hybrid components composed of aluminum alloys and polymer materials using flow-forming. It emphasizes the importance of this process for energy-efficient lightweight design and presents experimental investigations to understand the influence of key parameters such as feed rate, initial temperature, and wall thickness reduction on the forming process. The study highlights the successful formation of strong bonds between the materials and identifies temperature control as a critical factor for optimizing the process. The findings suggest that further research into temperature management and numerical simulation is necessary to enhance the manufacturing process.
