Abstract

The study focuses on the critical issue of landslide displacement prediction, highlighting the intricate and nonlinear nature of landslides. It introduces an enhanced Aquila optimizer algorithm (IAO) that improves upon the traditional Aquila optimizer by incorporating Tent chaotic mapping, adaptive weight factors, and opposition-based differential evolution. The IAO is used to optimize a hybrid model consisting of Variational Mode Decomposition (VMD) and Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (BiLSTM) networks, called IVMD-IAO-BiLSTM. This model demonstrates superior performance in predicting landslide displacement, as validated through comparative analysis with 11 other models using data from the Qili landslide in China. The study underscores the importance of parameter tuning in landslide prediction models and presents a novel approach that enhances both the optimization process and predictive accuracy.
