Abstract

The study focuses on the adsorption behavior and pitting mechanism of Nb and S on the TiN surface of high-strength anti-seismic rebar, which is crucial for preventing corrosion in marine environments. Using first-principles calculations and experimental methods, the researchers explore how Nb and S interact with the TiN surface, aiming to improve the stability and corrosion resistance of the rebar. The findings highlight the importance of understanding the adsorption and segregation behaviors of these elements, which can lead to the development of more effective treatments for enhancing the longevity and reliability of rebar in harsh marine conditions.
