Abstract

The study examines the critical issue of 'tilting' in caliber-rolling, where the material rotates around the pass line, leading to asymmetric deformation and torsion. Torsion can result in reduced shape accuracy and surface defects, highlighting the importance of controlling the tilting angle. The research evaluates torsion by comparing tilt angles at the entry and exit points, providing a detailed analysis of the restoration and overturning effects. The chapter offers valuable insights into the mechanisms behind tilting and torsion, contributing to a better understanding of rolling stability and product quality in the manufacturing of wire and rods.
