Abstract

The study investigates the aging characteristics of composite insulator sheds using a combination of experimental methods and molecular dynamics simulation. Key findings include the deterioration of hydrophobicity and mechanical properties over time, with significant impacts from pollution and electric field strength. The research provides valuable insights into the aging mechanisms of silicone rubber, highlighting the importance of understanding both macro and micro-level changes in insulator performance.
