Abstract

The study delves into the transient characteristics of secondary arcs in AC/DC hybrid transmission lines, emphasizing the significant role of coupling effects and fault locations on arc behavior. Through detailed simulations, the research analyzes how different coupling section lengths and fault positions impact secondary arc currents and recovery voltages. Additionally, the paper investigates the effectiveness of DC line coupling operation modes in suppressing secondary arcs, offering valuable insights for optimizing the design and operation of hybrid transmission systems. The findings highlight the importance of understanding and mitigating electromagnetic coupling problems to enhance system stability and reliability.
