Abstract

The article investigates the influence of compressible ocean water on surface wave generation due to asymmetric ocean floor motion, with a particular focus on the effects of a constant slope. It delves into the mathematical formulation and solution process of the problem, utilizing techniques such as Fourier transformation and the stationary phase approximation. The study highlights the generation of acoustic-gravity waves (AGWs) and their potential for tsunami prediction, as well as the impact of ocean floor properties like elasticity and porosity on wave behavior. The results show that the slope of the ocean floor significantly affects wave amplitude and propagation, with higher slopes leading to increased wave amplitudes. The work extends previous research by including the compressibility of ocean water and the asymmetry of the ocean floor, providing a more realistic model for wave dynamics.
