Abstract

The article examines the significant impacts of climate change on the tourism industry, particularly focusing on the vulnerabilities of coastal hotels. It highlights the need for sustainable adaptation strategies to mitigate risks associated with sea-level rise, storm surges, and extreme weather events. The study introduces a multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) methodology that evaluates adaptation strategies based on economic, environmental, social, and uncertainty dimensions. This approach ensures a balanced consideration of stakeholder goals and promotes resilience in hotel management. The research identifies key adaptation measures, such as infrastructure relocation, structural maintenance, and long-term planning, which can enhance the adaptive capacity of hotels. By integrating these strategies, hotels can better prepare for climate change effects and achieve long-term sustainable development goals. The article also discusses the theoretical and practical implications of the findings, providing a framework for decision-makers to implement effective climate risk management strategies.
